Plan of Salvation
At New Jerusalem Cathedral, we believe that the plan of salvation is given to us through God's word in certain scriptures which are often called the "Romans Roads." These scriptures help us to understand that we are sinners saved by grace. The grace of God helps us to recognize that no one is perfect, and that we are to embrace everyone in the spirit of love and meekness with a non-judgmental attitude.
Receiving Jesus as our personal Savior
- Romans 10:9 - "That if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved."
All are sinners
- Romans 3:23 -"All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God."
The penalty for sin is death
- Romans 6:23 -"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Jesus paid the penalty for sin
- Romans 5:8 - "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
NOTE: All scriptures above are given in the King James Version.
